Matthias Kleinhempel served as a fulltime professor at IAE Business School from 1999 to 2002. In 2009 he rejoined IAE and currently teaches in the MBA and the Excecutive Education programs. He is the Director of the Center for Governance and Transparency at IAE and the Academic Director of the Senior Excecutive Program Latinamerica in Miami.
Matthias Kleinhempel holds an MBA degree from IAE Business School and a Law Degree from the University of Hamburg, Germany. His research deals with Regional strategies and the Organization of International Companies, Business Ethics and the Implementation of Ethics and Compliance Programs.
Mr. Kleinhempel has been a visiting professor at IDE Business School in Guayaquil and Quito, Ecuador and at IEEM, Montevideo, Uruguay.
Mr. Kleinhempel worked as a lawyer with focus on insolvencies and bankruptcy proceedings in Germany and as an advisor to foreign investors in Argentina. In the past he has served in a number of positions at Siemens: he was President and CEO of Siemens Venezuela and simultaneously CFO for Siemens in the Andean Region; President of the Cable Division, holding responsibility for the worldwide business; and CEO and President of Siemens in Argentina and simultaneously CFO of the Mercosur Region.
Mr. Kleinhempel is Vice President of the EU Business Group in Argentina. He is member of the Board of FUNDES Argentina and co-Chair of the UN-PRME Working Group on anti-corruption: "Developing anti-corruption guidelines for curriculum change".
He has served as President of the Argentine-German Chamber of Commerce and as President of IAE's Alumni Association.
