| Visiting Professor | | | Objetives | Experiencing leadership will drive significant changes in the attendees’ attitude. Exercising it will provide a further understanding of this phenomenon. We will use a framework based on the concept of leadership being a set of actions that mobilize a team or a system to become aware of, address and advance in the resolution of its adaptive challenges.
| | Target | - Managers who are willing to question themselves about their leadership attitude and seek to bring changes to their organizations by efficiently solving complex and difficult situations.
- Top management executives, general managers, champions or project leaders

| Contents | Topics include: - The importance of distinguishing technical problems from adaptive challenges for an effective exercise of leadership.
- Understanding the difference between leading with and without authority, between leadership and personality, between leadership and expectations.
- Experiencing the interrelation of leadership, moral values and mental models.
- Identifying the risks of leadership and the faces of resistance.
- Learning to step back to get perspective and resume action.
- Tension and learning: Are they compatible? How are they related to leadership?
- What is leadership? Why is it difficult and risky? How can I exercise leadership and not succumb to its perils?
| | Basic assumptions: Leadership is an activity, not an attribute nor a talent. It can be learnt through exercise or by identifying own mistakes. It is sustained by moral values and by an objective that gives meaning to its inherent risks. It demands and inclusive view of the people within the institution or organization. Leaders may or may not hold positions of authority. | | Consultation Groups: Each 5-member group will discuss a case of leadership failure daily, starting Tuesday and finishing Friday, during lunch break |
