Post-Doctoral Positions

Applicants should hold a recent PhD in any field of Management or of social sciences (economics, law, political science, sociology and related fields), or be close to finishing their thesis.

Research potential is our key selection criterion for the advertised position. The successful candidate will be expected to carry out research suitable for publication in leading or highly ranked field and general management journals. The appointment will require involvement in a limited amount of teaching, up to 35 academic hours per year.

Salary takes the form of a scholarship at a competitive level. Other benefits, such as health insurance, are also provided. Additional funds are available for travel and shorter visits to other departments.

The school’s view is that the postdoctoral experience provides individuals who have recently completed a doctoral degree with a full-time program of advanced academic preparation and research training under the guidance of a supervising faculty mentor. The supervising faculty member is responsible for developing, in concert with the postdoctoral scholar, a plan of research and the goals, objectives and expectations of the post-doctoral program. Faculty supervisors are expected to regularly and frequently communicate with postdoctoral scholars. Supervisors also offer mentoring, including career advice and job placement assistance. The faculty mentor should also ensure that postdoctoral scholars have an environment adequate for fulfilling their responsibilities.

Postdoctoral scholars are expected to carry out the research plan and fulfill the goals established with the supervising faculty member; to communicate regularly with the faculty member; and to notify the faculty member of any change in research plans. The researcher will advance his or her own research agenda. We offer a stimulating research environment and all the opportunities of a dynamic private business school closely connected to Latin America’s firms.
