Institutional Spaces and Initiatives

|
There are several ways to contribute to IAE's institutional development.
|
| |
| |
"Learning and understanding how a company works is the only way to accomplish sound and sustainable growth. Based on that tenet, I believe it is absolutely essential to contribute to IAE's research program. It is necessary to support educational institutions for the advancement of true and relevant knowledge in the fields of theoretical and business interest. Investing in education amounts to enhancing quality and working capabilities."
Luis Schvimer, President, VISA ARGENTINA S.A |

A Research Center is conducted by an IAE full professor and composed of a group of professors and research assistants. They are an interdisciplinary team seeking to develop a distinct topic of interest within a specific area, through a long term research and development plan. A Research Center can be corporately or individually funded to carry out investigation works, publications and all activities agreed upon. |

| From scholarship recipients: | | | | | “I started working at Mc Donald’s when I was 16, while attending a full-day technical school. I strived to keep high marks and be among the best students. In 1996 I enrolled in the University of Buenos Aires School of Electronic Engineering pre-entrance training course. All these years, I’ve attended classes while full-time working. If asked about my academic achievements, I answer I got no medals or special distinctions. But when analyzing all I’ve lived and worked up to now I think my major attainment is my capacity to face and overcome difficulties. I’ve tested this capacity in the professional field when working in successful projects with Ciudad de Buenos Aires Bank and Pago Fácil. I was scared of quitting my work to study the Full-Time MBA, but I went ahead anyway. I was worried about committing myself to return the loan, having no assurance that I was going to be able to do so. I knew I had to run the risk eventually. And today everything has been worth the effort, so I take this opportunity to wholeheartedly thank all those who helped me, supported me and were part of this process.” Tamara Caplan – Scholarship recipient FAM MBA 2005 |
| | | | |
|
| | | | “ I think FAM opened the doors to a unique opportunity. This is a great compliment and a tremendous responsibility. I felt honored when this group of people considered that I had the skills to positively influence on society and that I deserved this opportunity. Apart from my personal objectives within the MBA, I feel a great responsibility and the duty to be up to the confidence that FAM, the sponsoring companies and society had on me, by trying to convey from now on and for the rest of my professional life the FAM values. I hope I can return to society all I received through this joint effort, doing my best within my field of work to shape a better society.” Sebastián Cattaneo– Scholarship recipient FAM MBA 2005 |
| | | | |
|
| | | | “ I consider that FAM is a unique initiative in Argentina, as it happens in any other part of the world where education has an important role in society. FAM shows how a group of people can begin to generate a change in society. With time and effort FAM will grow to give more opportunities to many people who will in turn contribute to foster the development of training programs comparable to those of any other international business school”. Tomás Zaborowski – Scholarship recipient FAM MBA 2005 |
| | | | |
|
From members of FAM Comission: | | | | | “In a never-ending short term Argentina, to be able to think and invest on long term is no small feat. This is why I decided to support the FAM initiative, so as to help train leaders able to face the present challenges with a transcendent vision of change.” Eduardo Avellaneda EMBA 2001 |
| | | | |
|
| | | | “I am aware that IAE has given me a superior academic education. That is why I decided to participate in launching FAM, which will give potential candidates requiring financial support the same first level education MBA gave me”. Alejandro E. Agárdy MBA 2002 |
| | | | |
|
| | | | “Our purpose was to make it possible for highly qualified MBA applicants lacking financial resources to access the same experience that we Alumni shared. Hence, we created FAM with a common vision that society’s change starts when its leaders are educated. We want to afford a managerial education based on integrity, quality and long-term vision values to those who have on their own effort developed a capacity for regional leadership”. Matthias Kleinhempel – EMBA 1191 FAM Commission, President |
